It’s Finally Here. And It Is About Time

Riding season has finally showed up. And let me tell ya, it is about damn time. Up here in the northern states, Ole man winter was acting like that friend who shows up at your house, and won’t take the hint to leave.

But is appears that he finally left us for good. Oh he threw a tantrum, dropping over a foot of snow before he left but he is gone. I was able to finally get on the bike for the first outdoor ride of the year. It was awesome. And I have a new ride I was dying to get on. I will call her Rad Red and she is amazing. She fits better, rides smoother and just goes down the road with ease. I had to stay on the roads as the paths were not cleared yet and the snow hasn’t melted off of the paths. I ran into parts where there was still over 6” of snow on the trails.

The route I rode today took me by some local lakes. The lakes are still covered in ice but it is so thin right now, the Sheriffs dept. use air boats if they have to go out and rescue some poor stupid idiot who thinks they can walk on the remaining ice. Don’t laugh, it happens all too often

One thing that I discovered today. The training rides I did over the winter did nothing to get me in shape for the season. I blame myself for not pushing myself on the trainer. I hate that thing and today it showed.
